'Tattletales ' of The White Elephant (A Consignment Shop)

'Money Bags' - by Leslie Broockman

Another in a series of shopkeeper stories from the early days of The White Elephant, Inc.

'Sometimes seeing is the only way of believing.' - Unknown

Brenda spotted a man who had a shirt front bulging with more than his beer belly. Approaching him she tapped on his gut, boldly asking, 'Whatcha got there fella?'

'Oh,', stammered the startled shoplifter, 'just my money bags is all. Just my money bags.'

'From the size of them, you must be pretty rich!', Brenda chuckled, giving him a great big smile.

Recognizing the determination behind our favorite red-heads patient smile, he stepped behind a rack.

Brenda turned the corner of the rack just as the man unbuttoned his shirt....and a pile of women's high heeled shoes thunked to the floor!
